Guys with Spears Jumping Around Rooftops
I was compelled recently to go buy a bunch of Matt Wagner's Grendel stuff, specifically the Hunter Rose stories, for no particular reason (maybe some nostalgia). Picked up some random issues and the Grendel Archive, a hardcover compendium that contains the earliest Grendel stories (essentially what I would like to do with the entire Bobu Leene series thus far).
I had not read Grendel while I was drawing and writing Bobu Leene, but their superficial similarities--mob assassins weilding spear-like weapons with a penchant for rooftop acrobatics and crashing through windows--just goes to show you...the power of the idea of mob assassins weilding spear-like weapons who have a penchant for rooftop acrobatics and crashing through windows.

Sketchbook #5: Jump Kick
Here's a sketch I did yesterday. Prominently featuring Mr. Pineapple Skull and a dude in a suit and tie jump-kicking Bobu Leene.

Sketchbook #4: Totally Random
This one is the most recent of those in this post, done just about a week or so ago. Freehand, freestyle pen-and-ink of Bobu and Harry in an Archie-and-Edith sort of scene. "I'm goin' out to the bar" kind of thing.
Speaks for himself.
I always imagine the Reaver in this particular pose: Leaping and shooting guns.
One tough-looking gator humanoid.

Dope 'Song of Ice and Fire' Art
Dude name Sam Bosma is doing some beautiful art of the characters in George R.R. Martin's "Song of Ice and Fire" series. Check it out at http://sambosma.blogspot.com/search/label/asoiaf.

Sketchbook #2: The Reaver Meets His Match
Ahh, the Reaver. I keep telling myself I'm going to do a solo comic of this guy, but I never progress beyond the "Reaver-walks-into-a-bar-and-gets-drunk-and-into-a-fight" phase. A favorite character of mine. So dumb, so easy to write, so inartfully phallic. Here he stares down the barrel of one of his many archenemies.
